    Doubt. Deny. Disobey.

There is an enemy of our souls.  One who causes us to doubt God’s voice, to deny His love and provision for us and to guide us into disobedience. The Bible has given the enemy a few names, satan, the devil.  In the third chapter of Genesis, the enemy comes on scene as a serpent.  The serpent comes to raise some doubt in the mind of Eve.  He has her questioning if what God said is really true.  He causes Eve to doubt what God said. Does God really know what’s best for me? Does God really have the best plan for my life? Does God even see me? The…

    Make Love Your Foundation

Hello, welcome to the blog!  I am glad you are here.  The heart motive behind this space on the internet is that you are welcome here.  That you will come to find peace, comfort, joy, motivation, and encouragement.  Most importantly, my hope is that you will find Love.  My desire is that you will see that that Love is weaved into every aspect of life. The foundation of life for us humans is knowing we are loved. Loved by a Creator who thinks the world of us. Once we know we are loved, then we can learn to live like it. Love has to be the foundation from which we…

    Just as I am

If I were to tell you right now in this moment that God accepts you and loves you just as you are, how would that make you feel? Do you think I am being wacky? Or do you know the truth when you hear it? I think we struggle with God accepting us just as we are because there is really nothing like it here on earth.  Thanks to advertising we feel we will not be accepted for our gray hairs, our wrinkles, our 10 year old cars, our curvy bodies, and our houses that don’t resemble high end decorator status. We can’t be accepted until we fix all the…

    How healthy is your mind?

What does your mind look like? Have you ever thought about that? We experience the side effects of how healthy or unhealthy our mind is. If our minds are a chaotic mess of unorganized thoughts, ideas and dreams our lives will reveal this. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2 We live in a culture that applauds and favors a busy lifestyle.  The more you are doing must mean the more successful you are. What if we refused to…

    Walk

I ate my pre-run breakfast, hot tea, toast with peanut butter, one banana, and a small yogurt. It’s the morning of my first ever 5K Turkey Trot. I put on my running shorts, shirt and socks. Pulled on a long sleeve just in case it was going to be chilly. I laced up my running shoes. I had my arm pocket that would hold my phone, I made sure I had my earbuds so I could listen to a podcast. I grabbed gloves and my headband, the race was out at the lake, it could be windy. I announce; I’m off to trot. The boys of course give me weird…

    I’m not getting any younger

I have been in the first book of the Bible, Genesis, and reading the whole story about Sarah and Abraham. Sarah wanted a baby so bad. So bad that she took the whole timing of the issue into her own hands. Sarah wanted to rush the plan of God. She wanted it now. In her timing. One of her main cries to God was, I am not getting any younger. How about we just start out this week with a little transparency? I can so relate to Sarah. I want something so bad. The desire. The dream. I believe God placed it in my heart when He created me. But…

    You are VERY GOOD

Sometimes we are so into our current life. You know the part where we are smack dab in the middle of it and we don’t remember our beginnings and we can’t see the end. Maybe pausing to remind ourselves where we come from might help us embrace where we are and get us to where we are going. The first book of the Bible is titled Genesis; which means the beginning. In the beginning God created… The Creator spoke the heavens and the earth into being. God spoke separation between light and darkness. The sky, land, seas, vegetation, sun, moon, stars, birds and creatures of the seas were also commanded…
