    Love On Them

Just trying to figure life out. While living it, yep that’s a hard one. Right? Like being the momma, who is menopausal, to two teen boys who are being doused with testosterone. Is this my life? I have come to learn a few things about myself this week. One is that I am ‘that person’ who is very curious about things. I am always asking questions. Wondering. Trying to sort some stuff out. And this can put me ‘out’ with others. This can cause others to question my foundation. This can rub up against the comfortable of others. Now hear my heart on this, I am not, NOT, intent on…

    The Comeback

I am here to let you all in on a secret that I have been keeping. After my visit with my physiotherapist yesterday I feel like I am in a safe spot to share this. I have been back to running. I am not fast. I am not doing incredibly long distances. However, I have converted from miles over to kilometers on my Run Keeper App…when in New Zealand speak the lingo! But I have been for a few runs. It has been over 2 years since I have ran. But my back has healed and it staying stable. I have worked hard over the past two years to keep…

    Behind the Scenes

I am finding myself in some very unfamiliar territory. Oh and remember I am living on the island, so I also feel like I am not on my home turf. I don’t want to feel alone in this. Well Done

What will you be remembered for? What have you done to impact the world around you? Are you living your life on purpose? I think at the core of each one of us, we want to live a good life. One that matters. One that makes a difference. This earth lost an amazing man. But I know all of heaven is throwing a huge welcome home party! Billy Graham. A voice of encouragement. A man on a mission. A life lived on purpose. A legacy left.     “My one purpose in life is to help people find a personal relationship with God, which I believe comes from knowing Christ.”—Billy…

    Punching holes in the darkness

A few weeks ago I heard a story about Robert Louis Stevenson, author of such literary work like Treasure Island. Robert was a Scottish boy growing up in the 19th century. Robert would sit and watch out the window as the lamplighters would work their way down the streets with their torches bringing the street lamps to light. One night his parents noticed him and asked him what he was doing. And very excitedly Robert exclaimed, “Look at that man! He’s is punching holes in the darkness!”       These past few weeks this story has been soaking into my mind, heart and soul. Punching holes in…

    High schooler in the house

Dear T, I had you in the front pack. I worked my way through the aisles of the store and hurried to the checkout line. You were starting to fuss. You were most likely starving, it had been a good 42 minutes since I had fed you last. I was loading the groceries up on the conveyer belt as fast as I could as I bounced and swayed you. The sweet old lady standing behind me ready to load her pint of milk, bread, butter and a bananas. She says, ‘it will go by so fast.’ No offense but maybe she couldn’t see me. Maybe the old age had clouded…
